The result? A 21 story hotel that took baroque design to a whole new level. It was immediately dubbed among the most beautiful buildings outside of Venice.

If you stay at the Adolphus, you’ll be in good company. Famous names such as Babe Ruth, the Vanderbilts, U2, Donald Trump and Queen Elizabeth II have all stayed in the hotel. The architecture and downtown location as well as the European atmosphere are an irresistible draw for most visitors. You’re likely to feel the same.

As soon as you enter The Adolphus, you’ll be swept up in a setting full of Flemish tapestries and a rich, luxurious atmosphere. Be sure to check out the Victorian Steinway that once resided at the Guggenheim estate. The staff aims to treat each guest like royalty and one of the most charming traditions is afternoon tea served in the lobby’s living room.

The location can’t be beat either, whether you plan to see the sights of downtown Dallas or need to conduct some business in the city. Not only are there plenty of restaurants in the area, but if you love to shop, you won’t find a better location than the nearby and exclusive North Park Center.

It has over 120 stores, famous sculptures, spas and a major movie theater. Within blocks of the hotel is also the famed Texas Longhorn Cattle Drive Sculpture, an iconic part of Dallas.

When you are ready to eat, the acclaimed French Room is extremely popular and nationally recognized by The New York Times as well as Gourmet magazine. It  has the reputation among many in Dallas as being the best restaurant in town.

Be aware that here is a dress code at The French Room, with jackets required for men (ties optional) and no jeans or sneakers. The food is prepared with the best of traditional French cooking techniques.

In addition to the French Room and the free afternoon tea served at The Adolphus, there is the Walt Garrison Rodeo Bar and Grill which has an Old West feel. There is The Bistro, a European styled cafe. From casual to formal dining, you’ve got your choice at this hotel.
