Are you on your way to Dallas and want to know how to fly in? Well, there are two major Dallas airports that service the area: Dallas-Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field.
Dallas airports are major hubs when it comes to traveling. Almost every big airline comes through this city on the way to or from someplace, making the airports busy in their own right as they get passengers hither and to. The larger and busiest between the two airports mentioned is Dallas-Fort Worth.
Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport is located within the area between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth in the heart of the intersections of highways 114, 183, 360, 97, 121, 161 and 26. You can there by connected between these highways. Interestingly enough the road directly into the airport is a toll road so be ready to pay to get in. You can choose taxi, bus or train to arrive. The airport itself covers over 29 square miles and opened in 1974 as the demand for airlines grew.
Dallas Fort-Worth is ranked 3rd in the world for operations and 8th in the world for passengers. Daily the airport handles nearly 154,000 passengers on seven runways through 175 gates in five terminals. The D terminal is for international airlines while A, B, C and E are for domestic.
The terminals at Dallas-Forth are huge to handle the large amount of people that travel through the airport; however this is also a negative. Since the terminals are huge it’s rather hard to get from point A to point B quickly especially when it comes to American Airlines who is housed within three of the four domestic terminals. You flight may not necessarily be in the same terminal. General aviation is handled out of terminal D for businessmen and charter flights.
Opinions vary amongst the passengers to Dallas- Fort Worth with the majority of them loving the airport. Some people have found the roads insane to drive on, as well as preferring better signage for directions and information.
The other major Dallas airport is Dallas Love Field named by the military (this started as a military outpost) for a fallen pilot. It is located within Dallas near I30 at 8008 Cedar Springs Road. The smaller of the two major Dallas airports, Love Field has Southwest, Continental and Delta airlines flying through the hub. Millions of passengers fly through Love Field annually. Sixty cities are served off of three runways and the airport is accessible by taxi, shuttles and limos.
Love Field has won countless customer service rewards and reviews and comments from passengers back the claim up. Short lines, attention to customer’s needs, fast security checkpoints and the ease of getting to and through the airport itself are all things that the passengers of Love Field love (pun intended). Reviews dictate mostly positive feedback with the only negative being that if you’re looking for every benefit you find in a larger airport here, you may be looking for a while.
The Dallas airports each are nearby several top-notch hotels making your stay convenient, with conference rooms available for use. Shops and restaurants of all kinds dot the concourses to serve your most every need.
Whether you are looking for a day at the park, arboretum or museums, Dallas is the place to be! Theme parks, baseball and football are mainstream activities as well. You won’t need to worry about much acclimate weather if you visit here or come for a conference. See it for yourself as you arrive at one of the Dallas airports for business or pleasure!
