If you’re staying in North Dallas and want to enjoy fine French decor (with a unique Texas flair thrown into the mix), III Forks restaurant offers a supreme upscale dining experience.
III Forks does everything on a grand scale, starting with a staggering 25,000 square feet of interior dining space. Even though III Forks is spacious, there are also intimate dining areas as well as rooms for larger gatherings.
It was listed at AOL’s Best Steakouse (2007) and remains a stellar restaurant in the Dallas area, with visitors frequently commenting that the meat is “the best” they’ve ever had.
There’s a reason for that. III Forks has the distinction of being one of only a handful of steakhouses in the United States which serve only Prime cuts. Only the top 2 percent of all beef actually meets the standard to be called “prime” so you’re not likely to sample such tender beef anywhere else. Expect the meat to practically melt in your mouth, flavored with special III Forks seasonings.
Regulars recommend the large dining room with its remarkable ceiling as the best space for newcomers who want an impressive setting to enjoy their meals.
When it comes to meal recommendations, the steaks are the most popular choice obviously. The average cost of dinner and drinks at III Forks is between $55 and $75 but throw in a couple of cocktails and an appetizer and odds are you’ll go over $100.
Yes, the restaurant is pricey but if you’re going to splurge, III Forks is definitely worth the indulgence. Eat here and you’re likely to make a grand impression on a first date or business client. Of course, it is equally nice for friends and couples who want to enjoy excellent food and great service.

Before dining, you might want to make a stop at the bar. Check out the signature Manhattan, a mixture of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, maple syrup, sweet vermouth, bitters and a cherry. Or perhaps a unique Raspberry Cosmopolitan would appeal to you, adding a unusual spin on the classic “Cosmo” with vodka, Black Raspberry liqueur and other flavorings.
After a drink or two, its time to settle down to dinner. The “Beef Market” side of the III Forks menu includes Prime Sirloin, Filet Mignon, Bone-In Ribeye, Porterhouse, a signature Pepper Steak, Tenderloin tips, Rack of Lamb and Veal Chops. You can’t go wrong with any of the meat options. The “Fish Market” side is also quite popular and offers Dover Sole, tender scallops and succulent Lobster Tails.
All entrees come with Duchess Potatoes, Creamed Corn and seasonal vegetables as well as fresh tomatoes and spring onions. The included side dishes get high marks but if you’d prefer Creamed Spinach or other vegetables, they can be ordered (for an extra cost of about $7.95 each).
The wine cellar boasts 8,000 bottles (with 900 selections on any given night). For an extra bonus, ask for a tour of the restaurant and wine cellar. You’ll get a chance to see all eight of the dining rooms and perhaps plan for your next visit to III Forks.
