Traveling through Dallas and have a itching for some live music and dancing that captures the essence of the city in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere? Then the Sons of Hermann Hall could be just the ticket.
This private lodge, voted the Best Live Music Venue in a Dallas Observer Reader’s Poll, has music, special performances, and dancing going on from Wednesday through Saturday (the hall is closed Sunday through Tuesday). The Hall is perfect for families, too. All ages are welcome here. Just be prepared to have a rollicking good time and work up a sweat, too!
Admission fees can vary, depending on the night and whether there are special guest performances. One important bit of advice if you decide to drop by the Hall: it is cash only. So don’t try to use credit cards or checks to pay for any food or drinks.
However, there is an ATM machine on the premises so you don’t have to panic if all you have on hand is a credit or bank card. Everything will be just fine as long as your credit card is in good standing.
What types of music and dancing will you find at the Hall? Tuesday nights are usually focused on a Blues ‘n’ the Night theme. Lessons and dancing start at 8 p.m. On Wednesdays, Swing Dance rules with lessons from 8 till 9 pm and practice until midnight.
Thursday might be the best night of all, with an Electric Campfire Jam. It lasts from 7 pm to midnight. All ages are welcome any night of the week. So bring your friends and family for fun, laughter and plenty of dancing!

Owned both by the Texas Sons of Hermann Dallas Lodge 22 and Columbia Lodge 66, the Hall is considered neither a bar or a nightclub, even though there is a downstairs bar for your convenience.
