At Texas Discovery Gardens, you can be one of the numerous visitors who have the opportunity to marvel at 500 tropical butterflies, all carefully tended in their very special Butterfly House. You’ll be amazed at the varieties of both familiar and rare species which fly gracefully across the space.
Be sure to bring your camera along because taking photos is not only allowed but encouraged. You may even be among the lucky visitors who have a butterfly fly on their shoulders. If so, that is a special photo opportunity you won’t want to miss!
Texas Discovery Gardens also contains over 7 acres filled with diverse gardens as well as a botanical collection. Native plants and rarer plants from all over the world are spread throughout the gorgeous gardens.
You get to enjoy the reward of the staff’s hard work and see native wildlife, from butterflies to birds soaring across the gardens. Because the garden is completely organic, sustainable methods are eco-friendly and good for the planet.
Although you’ll definitely want to visit the Butterfly House, leave time for the Discovery Gardens and the ten themed areas, from a scent garden to an heirloom garden. You may even get inspiration for your own garden space.
Gardening workshops and tours are offered all year long and are family friendly as well as interesting to couples as well as individuals. Even if your home is located far from Texas, you’ll learn how to use both native and adapted plants in your garden, tailoring the advice to your environment.
