The Joule Dallas

For those searching for a luxurious hotel in Dallas, the Joule Dallas can’t be beat. From the time guests pull up at the door, they’ll find impressive service, from  the valets who park their cars, to the sleek, modern and lovely rooms.

It’s also home to one of the most unique swimming pools on the entire planet…

Joule Hotel

Designed by Adam D. Tihany, the Joule’s is an architectural stand-out. Not surprisingly, it has won major awards for design alone. Tihany’s influence extends to each room, where his photographs are displayed on the walls.

Each one features aspects of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The hotel’s history dates back to 1927, when the site was home to the Dallas National Bank Building, an architectural gem in its own right. The building was known for its gothic design which remained long after similar buildings had disappeared from the Dallas skyline.

The Joule has won many major awards, including Elite Traveler’s 101 Top Hotels (for hotel suites) and an award from Travel and Leisure Magazine for Best Hotel Art Collections. These are only a couple of many accolades received for The Joule .

With 129 guest rooms, the hotel is not overly large, allowing the staff to give each visitor individual and highly personalized attention. It is not unusual for repeat visitors to be remembered by name. Designed for discerning travelers who want only the best, the Joule fulfills those expectations – and goes the extra step beyond.

The Bizarre Da Vinci Styled Hotel

As might be expected, room rates are not the lowest around. Rates start at $179 for a room with a Queen or King sized bed and go up to $379 for suites. Penthouse and special accommodations have select pricing.

It would be impossible to name all the special amenities featured at the Joule. Restful shades of blue, gray and burgundy flow through each room. The Loft Suites and Penthouse have their own private access and rooftop terraces. But it isn’t necessary to get one of those special suites to enjoy recessed reading lamps set in the headboards of each bed, 300 thread count sheets and even martini stations. Phone includes a direct line to Neiman Marcus.

The bathrooms are equally special, with spa products, dark tiles and specially designed showerheads. After stepping out of the shower, comfortable robes and slippers are ready and waiting. In room safes are on hand for guests who want to keep jewelry or other valuables close at hand and protected.

Although travelers could spend days enjoying the pool, restaurant and even a wine shop in the hotel, a Nieman-Marcus store is only steps away. Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, Northpark Center and Victory Park are also nearby. The Arts District and American Airlines Center are also close to the hotel. The Joule’s concierge can easily obtain tickets for any featured performances or attractions in the area.

A personalized wake up service, umbrellas, clothes brush, turn down service for beds, shoe horns and valet service are standard with each room. Cribs are available, if desired. Personal shopping service is another unique service offered at the Joule.

Guests rave about Charlie Palmer’s restaurant, conveniently located within the hotel. Experienced sommeliers can help with wine recommendations. Sea bass and pheasant are just some of the possible entrees with diners able to create custom dinners and combos. Poolside dining service is also offered.

Pool at the Joule

Cabanas at the pool are very padded but available on a first come, first served basis. Adding to the luxurious touches, staff at the pool offers refreshing lavender mists and sunglass spritzing. The pool itself is a marvel, extending 8 feet beyond the hotel itself so that swimmers feel as though they are suspended in the air.

For those who prefer an intimate dining experience, the room service menu  impressive. An on site Next Vintage Wine Shop is certainly not standard at other hotels. It provides guests at the Joule a chance to select wine or get recommendations from sommeliers in a shop where the wine is kept in temperature controlled conditions.

The Joule is located at 1530 Main Street in Dallas and can be reached at (214) 748-1300.
