For the ultimate adrenaline rush, head to Zero Gravity Thrill Dallas. From free-falling through the Dallas sky to bungee jumping, this amusement park will take serious thrill seekers to the limit.
Founded in 1992, Zero Gravity Thrill Dallas was created with one single goal: to be the most extreme, exciting amusement park in the world. And it’s definitely lived up to this mission! Adrenaline junkies can choose between five different heart-pounding, fear-inducing rides: Bungee Jumping, Skycoaster, Nothin’ but Net, Skyscraper and Texas Blastoff.
The Texas Blastoff (see video above) will rocket you straight up to 70 mph in 1.2 seconds. But instead of falling straight down, you’ll be taken down on a topsy-turvy free fall filled with twists, turns and flips.
Hit 4 G’s on the Skyscraper, voted one of the top things to do in Dallas. The Skyscraper is really a massive windmill that cranks up to 60 mph in just seconds. You’ll be whipped 165 feet into the air at fighter jet speeds – experiencing 4 G’s of force, even more than a space shuttle taking off!
For a classic thrill, go bungee jumping and experience the unforgettable sensation of falling seven stories. Or take the family (up to 3 at a time) on the Skycoaster and glide over 100 feet off the ground. Pull your own ripcord and let the screams fly as you hurtle through the air at 60 mph.
If bungee jumping or skycoasting just don’t do it for you, upgrade to the ultimate rush with Nothin’ But Net, the perfect way to finish off your visit. The folks at Zero Gravity will lift you up to the top of a 16-story tower – and then let you go. That’s right – you’ll be free falling through the air, dropping down 130 feet. And by free fall we mean it! There’s no safety harness or rope attached, just a net at the bottom to catch you.
Admission to Zero Gravity Thrill is based on the number of attractions (up to five) that you wish to ride. Prices start at $32.99 (plus tax) for one ride, and each consecutive ride is an additional $14.99. Or scream your lungs out on all five rides at the discounted rate of just $72.95 (plus tax). For $109.95 (plus tax), you can enjoy all five rides and also receive five thrill videos, one for each of your trips.
Be sure to check the Zero Gravity Thrill website for special three-for-one coupons and other seasonal discounts (like ‘tax-free’ rides in April to ease the pain of April 15th). On Fridays and Saturdays, enjoy the ‘late night happy hour’ and receive $10 off your first ride between 8pm and midnight.
Park times vary, based on the time of year and the day of the week. In general, the park is open 4pm to 10pm during the week, 4pm to midnight on Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 10pm on Sunday. Height and age restrictions apply, and if you’re under 16 you’ll need the verified signature of a parent or guardian.
The park boasts a perfect safety record, thanks to the state-of-the-art equipment, well-trained staff and rigorous safety standards. Loyal patrons rave that the Zero Gravity Thrill staffers are “trustworthy,” “experienced,” “friendly,” and “accommodating.” Above all, the staff pride themselves on ‘safety first’ – which is a definitely essential when you’re free falling through the Dallas sky!
Zero Gravity Thrill Dallas is located at 11131 Malibu Dr. just north of downtown Dallas off 35E (take the Walnut Hill exit), next to SpeedZone. It’s about a 15 to 20 minute trip from downtown, depending on traffic.
Whether you’re in Dallas for a long weekend or in town for a work conference, Zero Gravity Thrill is a “once in a lifetime opportunity” and “totally awesome!” Just don’t eat before you get on the Skycoaster!
